Ingredients

  • 12 ounces chicken sausage sliced
  • 12 ounces short pasta penne or rigatoni
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup light cream or half and half
  • 1 half cup grated parmesan plus more for serving
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 1 half teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil then cook the pasta until just tender and reserve a cup of the cooking water
