Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground pork/turkey)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 (14 oz) bag coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage and carrots
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  5. Drain excess grease if needed.
  6. Stir in the coleslaw mix, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and black pepper.
  7. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
