Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan. Set it aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, combine milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix gently. Don’t overdo it—just until it’s combined.
Spoon the batter into your loaf pan and smooth out the top with the back of a spoon.
Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let it cool a bit before slicing. Or don’t. Warm bread is kind of magic.
