Knock You Naked Bars with a Cheesey Twist – Cheesey Potatoes Easy Recipe Style

Let me tell you, these Knock You Naked Bars live up to their bold name. We’re talking gooey, chocolatey bars layered with rich caramel that oozes from the center like a dessert lava flow—no warning label required. They come together with the kind of pantry staples we all keep on hand (or at least pretend we do). Think boxed cake mix, soft caramels, chocolate chips, a bit of butter, and a splash of good sense. They're absurdly easy to make, which makes them the perfect partner to your lazy afternoon coffee—or midnight snack sabotage. If your sweet tooth's been feeling neglected lately, give it the love it deserves. These bars are like that cousin who shows up to every party with stories, snacks, and trouble—in the best way. I’ve made these for potlucks, late-night movies, and yes, once, breakfast. No regrets.

Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 60 soft caramels, unwrapped
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk (for caramels)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish like your life depends on it.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, and melted butter until thick and sticky like a cookie dough.
  3. Press half that mixture into the pan and bake it for 8 minutes. Let it sit and think about its life choices.
  4. While that bakes, melt the caramels with the second 1/3 cup of evaporated milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Try not to eat it by the spoonful. No promises though.
  5. Remove the base from the oven. Pour the caramel over it. Sprinkle chocolate chips like you’re a generous chocolate fairy.
  6. Crumble the rest of the dough over the top, covering as much of the caramel as possible (but if some peeks through, we’re not mad about it).
  7. Bake for another 18–20 minutes, then cool completely before cutting. Yes, completely. I know, the wait is cruel.
