Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and sauté until browned, about 5 minutes.
Add minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, diced tomatoes, uncooked pasta, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
Top with chopped green onions if desired and serve hot.
