Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly butter each slice of bread.
Place bread on a baking sheet and make a small indentation in the center with the back of a spoon.
Crack one egg into each indentation. Season with salt and pepper.
Sprinkle cheese generously over the top of each slice.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your liking and the cheese is melted.
Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
