Soft Crescent Rolls – Baking With Crescent Rolls Easy Recipes

These soft crescent rolls come together like a cozy Sunday morning—simple, slow, and full of promise. When I bake them, my whole kitchen fills with that warm, buttery smell that makes you pause, take a deep breath, and maybe even forget about your to-do list for a minute. What I love most? They’re surprisingly easy to make. We're talking light, fluffy, pull-apart goodness with just a few pantry staples. They're the kind of rolls you bake once and then get asked to make again and again—family dinners, brunches, even those random Tuesday nights when boxed mac and cheese could use a best friend on the side. Whether you're kneading out some stress or just in the mood for warm carbs (honestly, who isn’t?), this crescent roll recipe has your back. They rise beautifully, bake golden, and pull apart like a dream. Add a swipe of butter, maybe a little honey, and they disappear faster than you can say, “Wait, I just had one.”

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk (not hot)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add softened butter, eggs, and salt. Mix until combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it in half. Roll each half into a circle (about 12 inches across).
  7. Cut each circle into 8 wedges. Roll each wedge from the wide end to the tip to form a crescent.
  8. Place crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush each roll with melted butter.
  10. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden. Let cool slightly before devouring!
