Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat the chicken in cornstarch, then dip in the beaten eggs.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Set aside.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
